Abstract

The field of humanoid robotics is experiencing remarkable growth due to increased industry demand, technological advancements, and their anatomical similarity to humans. This similarity facilitates their adaptation to environments designed for people, enhancing their potential for seamless integration into our world. These advancements enable humanoid robots to perform increasingly complex tasks, making them valuable assets in industrial settings for automating repetitive processes. Despite their promising capabilities, there is a notable lack of detailed research on the specific challenges these robots may encounter in the industry. This paper presents the latest developments in humanoid robotics, with a focus on their design characteristics and industrial applications. Additionally, it examines some critical challenges that could impede their effective deployment, such as deficiencies in social interaction skills, limited operational time, and the need to meet security norms to function as collaborative robots. Further research is particularly needed to explore advancements in artificial skin, energy-efficient designs, and strategies for achieving compliance with safety standards in collaborative environments. Addressing these areas will be crucial to overcoming current limitations and enabling humanoid robots to reach their full potential in industrial and social applications.
